GA Insurance Ltd. and MSC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to improve access to financial education, insurance, and risk management support for fish farmers across Africa.

Through this partnership:
GA Insurance Limited will provide Samaki Bima, a tailored aquaculture insurance solution that protects fish farmers against production risks.
MSC (MicroSave Consulting) will deliver financial and insurance education under the Women and Youth Economic Empowerment in Fisheries through Inclusive Market Access program, implemented by TradeMark Africa and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

This collaborative effort aims to empower more than 242,000 women and youth by creating new opportunities and enhancing existing ones in fish trade. It also seeks to unlock more than USD 100 million in fish product exports, which will support higher household incomes and improve food security and nutrition in marginalized and vulnerable communities.

The partnership marks a significant step toward helping fish farmers better understand risk, protect their livelihoods, and build stronger, more resilient businesses.
