Reporting & Reinsurance Accountant

About the position

Job Summary: To support the preparation of the company’s compliance reports for management decision-making and for regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare monthly financial management Accounts.
  2. Perform monthly reconciliation of Account ledger balances.
  3. Review bank reconciliations prepared by the preparer.
  4. Maintain Accounting schedules leading to period balance recognition into the General ledger.
  5. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports for submission to the regulator.

 

Prepare Reinsurance reports.

  1. Prepare Reinsurance bordereaux for premiums, commission, and claims
  2. Prepare reconciliations relating to Facultative and other various Programs and prepare quarterly reinsurance statements for reinsurers
  3. Reconcile reinsurers’ statements to account for Ledger balances.
  4. Reconcile Reinsurance balances with the respective participants on the treaty and Facultative arrangements.
  5. Prepare and Evaluate Incurred but not reported (IBNR) Reports for each class of business
  6. Prepare premium and claims trend analysis and exceptional reports
  7. Analyze the claims outstanding report as required.
  8. Prepare and provide data for external actuarial valuations and liaise with the external Actuary.

 

  • Support in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements at end of the financial reporting period.

 

  •  Support in the preparation of a detailed Annual budget that is aligned with the Strategy.

  2. Graduate
  3. 3 years’ relevant experience
  4. Membership of requisite professional body

  2. Ability to deliver quality work on time
