GA has prudently invested in the technology with the latest software in general and medical insurances, which has further assisted the company in handling the volumes and get the better control on document deliveries, accounts, and reports.

The Company

GA Uganda is a fully owned subsidiary of GA Insurance Limited, an insurance Group with Head Offices in Nairobi Kenya. The GA Brand has existed in East Africa in various forms over the past 80 years. The Group is very successful and is ranked 6th in the Kenya Market. Last year the GWP of the general insurance was US$ 78 Million. The GA brand is now truly East African having set foot in Uganda. The Tanzania operations were established six years.

GA Uganda is the latest addition in the general insurance business segment of the industry. The entry of the brand into the market was by way of an acquisition. The deal was completed in October 2019 and the GA flag was hoisted in the country on 1st November 2019.

GA Uganda espouses the same business and underwriting philosophy as the Group namely; customer is the center of all that we do. Our customers benefit from the core values that we live and abide by. We are obligated to operate from a high ground of integrity. Hence, we keep our promises big or small. At GA we advocate; respect and we value all our stakeholders. Our human resource is most suited to offer a consistent superior customer experience at every point of contact. Our staff draw from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Service is tinged with a mix of experiences that runs into hundreds of years. Service delivery is innovative learning from the wide-ranging educational exposures. The brand is deliberate on enhancing soft skills to ensure customers are delighted at every moment of truth. Insurance service is a professional service and hence we take time to grow our staff’s technical competences.

The Directors, Management and Staff of GA Uganda are excited about the opportunities that abound in the country. The low penetration is the first clear demonstration of the potential that exists. We believe in a collaborative approach of the market with other industry stakeholders to enhance entrenching insurance.

The country is rich with natural resources. We are ready to support the players in the extractive industries. The country is blessed with a rich offering of flora and fauna making it a great destination for tourists. We have great experience in other markets of supporting the tourism and hospitality. The country has very good agricultural lands and this too needs insurers to support. The leadership of the country is cognizant of the need to be self sufficient in value adds and manufacturing. The government is investing heavily in infrastructure and we have good experience of supporting players in the sector.

We bring to our Uganda customers what GA is known for in other markets; unique customer experience at every touch point. Additionally, we have made strong partnerships with all service providers to ensure timely claims settlement. Transparency is a value we hold dear. We are clear about our products and services. We are accessible and our staff and managers are reachable 24/7. Each and every client whether corporate, SME or Retail deserves well thought out insurance solutions.

The year 2020 was the first full year of GA operations. We are glad to report an 86% growth across all general insurance products. In august last year we launched our bespoke medical products that deepened our product offerings. The GA has been readily accepted in the market and we are glad of the budding business relationships.
